About the Journal

Focus and scope

Slavia Centralis (SCN) is an international scientific journal that publishes linguistic, literary-theoretical, and literary-historical original scientific articles in the field of Slavic studies; it is also open to comparative interdisciplinary approaches. Papers must be related to the Slovene Slavic area; the discussion of the contents must also be interesting for Slovene readers; a variety of literature should be considered.

We also publish book reviews and reports.

Papers may be written in Slovene, English, German or Hungarian. In agreement with the editors, the contribution is also possible in other Slavic languages.

Refereeing process

Two independent reviewers referee each paper. The publication is possible in the case of two positive assessments. The refereeing process is generally completed within 6 months. Nevertheless, in individual cases, it may take longer (depending on the number of papers considered, the language of the paper, and the topic). The editor-in-chief informs the author about the received reviews by e-mail and forwards any comments that must be considered for the article to be published. Final editorial authority rests with the editor-in-chief.

The editors reserve the right to make linguistic changes to the paper.

Policies

When submitting an article, authors are asked to indicate their agreement to the following policies. Please read about them before submitting your paper.

On the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge, Slavia Centralis provides immediate open access to all of its content. All articles are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial 4.0 International License (CC-BY-NC). Such access is associated with increased readership and increased citation of an author's work. For more information on this approach, see The Open Archives Initiative. Please feel free to contact the editors for further information. All submissions to Slavia Centralis will be made available in KU ScholarWorks, the institutional repository of the University of Kansas, as well as the Digital Library of Slovenia, the digital repository of the National and University Library of Slovenia (NUK).
