    ON THE COVER
    Andreja Peklar: the illustration is from the author's picture book Buba {KUD Sodobnost International, 2020), mixed media: monotype, collage, digital collage, 24.6 cm x 48.6 cm.

    It was also published in Italy, Spain, Greece, Macedonia and this year in Poland. It received awards at Hiii Illustration in China (2020) and Nam i concours in South Korea (2021). In 2023, it also came to life as a puppet show at the Maribor Puppet Theatre, featuring the author's puppets and scenes. This year, it received the award for best performance, as voted by the audience, at the FEP (Festival of Ecological Theatre) in Bačka Palanka, Serbia.

    ON THE COVER
    Tomaž Kržišnik: Seven original prints for the Slovenian folk tale The Golden Bird, color screenprint, 7 × (45 cm × 35 cm), Mladinska knjiga, 1971.

    For his master's thesis at the Warsaw Academy, Kržišnik created seven original prints for the Slovenian folk tale The Golden Bird in 1971. With this first bibliophile-designed graphic folder in screenprint in our country, he became one of the most individual, bold and stylistically recognizable artists, who permanently wrote himself into the history of Slovenian art.

    ON THE COVER
    Matija Medved: the cover illustration is from the collection Collective of Sighs, Look back and laugh publishing house, Ljubljana, 2020. Mixed media (digital drawing, scanned collage, ink painting and coolie drawing), 180 mm x 260 mm. The author of the illustration was awarded three medals by the Society of Illustrators New York at its international annual review exhibition in early 2024: a gold medal for the covers of Fabula's Pocket Books in the book illustration category, a silver medal for illustrations that are part of the identity (or corporate image) of the Rog Center in the institutional illustration category, and another silver medal for illustrations of the weekly column written by Harrison Tish Warren for The New York Times.

    ON THE COVER
    The illustrations by Lidija Osterc are from the picture book Biba buba baja. A collection of children's songs for the youngest composers by Mira Voglar was published in 1979 by the Correspondence Workers' University Univerzum. The title of the picture book and its illustrations marked this year's exhibition of the ZRC SAZU and the Center for Illustration: Biba buba baja. Creating (for) the children of socialism.

    Ana Marai: the cover features an illustration from the picture book Protideievnajuha by Majda Koren (KUD Sodobnost International, 2023). The illustrations (in the technique of collage
    and digital processing) were included in this year's 58th illustration exhibition in Bologna. The international jury selected only 79 illustrators from 31 countries out of 3520 applicants.

    ON THE COVER
    This year, Mladinska knjiga Publishing House celebrates 70 years of its cult collection Čebelica.

    Hana Stupica: Illustrations from the picture book The Forgetful Centipede, Darja Marinšek's debut as an artist. The picture book was published in the collection Čebelica on its honorable anniversary. Before the book was released, the illustrator received the award for best book illustration at the fifth illustration festival llustrofest 2023 in Belgrade.

    The cover is adorned with an illustration from the picture book Deklica lastovica (Slovenian Folktale). The picture book was first published by Mladinska knjiga in 1989. When illustrator Kamila Volčanšek was awarded the Levstik Lifetime Achievement Award, it was given a new lease of life in a fresh design.
