Povzetek

Ta članek obeležuje 1050. obletnico Abu Rayhan Al-Birunija in se posveča njegovim dosežkom in prispevkom v geoznanosti in kartografiji v kontekstu islamske zlate dobe. Al-Birunijevo delo, za katerega je značilen interdisciplinarni pristop in natančna metodologija, ni le prispevek na področju geografije, temveč je tudi povezalo različne kulturne perspektive. Z raziskovanjem Al-Birunijevih prispevkov ta članek izpostavlja njegove inovativne metode za merjenje polmera Zemlje, njegove edinstvene kartografske predstavitve in njegovo sintezo znanja različnih civilizacij. S poudarkom na Al-Birunijevih prispevkih tako z geografske kot izobraževalne perspektive osvetljujemo njegov vpliv na disciplino in ponujamo vpoglede, ki so ključnega pomena za sodobne geografske raziskovalce in pedagoge. Ta študija poudarja pomembnost vključevanja Al-Birunijevih interdisciplinarnih metod, kritičnega mišljenja in medkulturnih analiz v sodobno geografsko izobraževanje, s čimer se bogati geografska znanost in spodbuja globlje razumevanje povezanosti svetovnih kultur in znanstvenih dosežkov.
