Artificial Intelligence and Its Legal Regulation

Currently, artificial intelligence impacts virtually each area of our everyday lives. Over the last few decades, it has successfully infiltrated the labour market as well. The article will, by describing different types of healthcare robots, try to answer the key question: Why do different “development phases of robotics” require different legal approaches? At the moment, we are confronted with legal gaps concerning liability for actions performed by robots equipped with algorithms which are not provided with a specific pattern when solving the task, but create their own based on environmental inputs. Even though such robots might enhance work efficiency, the law needs to respond and provide new legal provisions that would determine the person responsible for the harm done by such robots. In the article, I evaluate a few different options for such regulation and propose ideas to re-regulate the employment relationship, which could potentially lead us to the desirable aim, namely to create legislation for the protection of individuals in case of harm done by robots.
