Abstract

The National Curriculum for Early Childhood Education and Care of Croatia reflects contemporary educational values. Physical literacy is a key concept connecting the body, learning, and well-being. This paper determines the presence and conceptualization of physical literacy within the National Curriculum's goals. Through a thematic analysis of forty-one definitions, a set of core curriculum-related concepts was identified. The results indicate a discrepancy between the curriculum and internationally accepted dimensions of physical literacy. The findings highlight the need for a clearer conceptual foundation in national strategic documents to effectively support the lifelong health and development of children.
