Abstract

Discussions about the question “What there is in the world?” are normally connected with two other questions “What can we know?” and “How can be our knowledge of the world conceptualised?”. Both levels, ontological and epistemological, are sometimes, unjustifiably, interchanged what is resulted in different ontological positions that declare themselves as a kind of realism but are mutually incompatible. Differences between idealist, internal and methaphysical realism are presented in the form of dialogue between speakers who represent some basic ideas of the well-known defenders of particular kind of realism. At the end, there are offered arguments for the metaphysical realism as the best candidate for our answer on the former question “What there is in the world?”
