Objects as Beings in the Facts of the World
Keywords:
ontology, logical space, object and state of affairs, logical and empirical possibility, fact, worldAbstract
In this article, three methodological criteria will be advanced in order to understand ontology in Wittgenstein’s Tractatus Logico-philosophicus: substance, potentiality, and contigency. These categories are presented on the basis of Wittgenstein’s logical space, which in the Tractatus, takes on the structure of the disjunctive normal form of a tautology and which explain Wittgenstein’s conception of objects, states of affairs, facts, and inter-relations obtaining among things, reality, and the world.
