Vloga manjših mest v Alžiriji: urbani in gospodarski vidik

V prispevku preučujemo vlogo manjših mest v urbanizaciji Alžirije in izpostavlja njihov vpliv v nacionalnem in regionalnem kontekstu. Čeprav Alžirija odraža globalne trende urbanizacije, ostajajo razlike med severom in jugom države. Manjša mesta – urbana središča s 5.000 do 50.000 prebivalci – služijo kot ključne povezave med podeželskimi in urbanimi območji, saj so to središča trgovine, storitev in regionalnega povezovanja. Študija z uporabo popisnih in gospodarskih podatkov kvantitativno analizira njihove funkcije. Kljub finančnim in upravnim oviram so ta mesta ključnega pomena za spodbujanje regionalnega ravnovesja in zmanjšanje koncentracije v velikih urbanih območjih. V prispevku zagovarjamo politike za izboljšanje infrastrukture, gospodarskih priložnosti in storitev v majhnih mestih, pri čemer poudarjamo njihov pomen za trajnostni razvoj in zmanjšanje prostorskih neenakosti v rastoči urbani krajini Alžirije.
